Our policy is easy: all industrial products must have at least one third party certification seal. For custom made wood work we carefully evaluate the materials in terms of recyclables, reclaimed and low emissions finishes. Materials and processes that fit our criteria are:
Made of materials from sustainable sources (e.g. bamboo)
Made of recycled materials (eg. reclaimed or salvaged wood)
Made of materials that are harvested and managed in a responsible manner (eg, FSC certified)
Made with materials that have a long life cycle, producing less waste and requiring less energy for production (eg C2C certified)
Made with Formaldehyde Free Adhesives (eg. some hardwood and bamboo floor) or non-toxic materials in its backing (eg. some modular tile carpets)
Made with non-toxic materials, such as low-VOC emissions for adhesives and stains.
Manufactured from companies commitment to the environment in all the phases of the manufacture process, from design to production, distribution and life-cycle of the product

We use interior paint products with an outstanding quality Zero VOC formula. It dries with no harmful odor. VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emitted by solvents are found to contribute to indoor air pollution and ground-level ozone. Forget about the Low VOC. We paint with Zero.
Our custom made walking closets and wood work are made with reclaimed wood or non-toxic (low or 0 VOC) paints and stains. We have found extremely effective the combination between low emissions and reusable materials.
